"Dig Where You Stand"

was the theme for the 2001 Summer Heritage Camp for Cooleemee kids. Right: digging at the old Terrell House site at Cooleemee Falls. Below, at Pearson’s Graveyard with Wake Forest University Archaeology staff.

"The Discovering Our Heritage"

program means classes for each grade of elementary school children, sponsorship of the Cooleemee Kids History Club and a week-long, summer Heritage Camp for local children every June.

"If the next generation doesn’t claim their heritage, the story will end there,"says Cooleemee Historical Association president Jim Rumley.
