Discovering Our Heritage

"Dig Where You Stand" was the theme for the 2001 Summer Heritage Camp for Cooleemee kids. Right: digging at the old Terrell House site at Cooleemee Falls. Below, at Pearson’s Graveyard with Wake Forest University Archaeology staff. |
| "The Discovering Our Heritage" program means classes for each grade of elementary school children, sponsorship of the Cooleemee Kids History Club and a week-long, summer Heritage Camp for local children every June. "If the next generation doesn’t claim their heritage, the story will end there,"says Cooleemee Historical Association president Jim Rumley.
